Description
– Gabbeh: The word ‘Gabbeh’ comes from the Persian meaning raw, natural, uncut. With rough and primitive designs, Gabbeh patterns are of a very basic kind with only a limited number of decorative, mostly rectangular objects and sometimes bearing simple animal designs. Bright colors, yellows, reds and blues are used. At a first glance, Gabbeh appears to have a modern design, but in fact the designs are very traditional dating back two or three centuries. Our Gabbehs are woven with fine wools by master weavers in Pakistan.
