Steam cleaning takes out the oils from the wool and converts a good live wool into a dead wool. It is deceiving because the rug looks clean but the damage is irreversable and shows only after a few cleanngs, when it is too late.
Dry-cleaning leaves chemicals in the fiber, which is farmful to the longivity of the fine wool rug. |
